Following a thorough inspection of the car it's time to begin the wash phase. This is done in a systematic fashion to always tackle the worst areas first so as not to transfer any dirt back onto the vehicle causing damage.
This is termed by Detailers as a "Safe Wash Routine".
The first job is to degrease and power rinse the door, bonnet and boot shuts

This includes the fuel filler cap, especially important for Diesel engines

Next is the turn of the wheels, tyres, arches and brake calipers. The whole area is given a power rinse to remove any loose dirt before being treated with mild cleaning solutions and agitated with a selection of soft brushes. This includes the backs of the wheels and inner alloys

To this

All four wheels are given the same treatment and then it's onto the paintwork wash stage.
The car is power rinsed to remove heavy dirt deposits. Then a mild citrus degreaser is applied to the lower half of the car and left to dwell.

Once this has had time to work the car is rinsed again. Then a thick foam blanket is applied to gently lift dirt from the paint and drag it from the vehicle

During this phase a soft detail brush is used to work on those hard to reach places like badges, panel gaps and light clusters

This takes a few minutes to do it's work. The car is then rinsed again and then it's time to physically wash the paintwork. To do this in the safest way possible a 2 bucket method is used

The red bucket contains a super slick shampoo to glide easily over the car when applied with a soft lambswool mit. The white bucket is the clean rinse bucket. After each panel the mit is rinsed in the white bucket and agitated on the grit filter you can see at the bottom to remove any harmful deposits and not returning them to your paintwork causing scratches. This is the only true "no-scratch hand car wash" method regardless of what many garage forecourt sites advertise.
Once the whole car has been washed panel by panel from top to bottom it is rinsed again. By now the exterior has had 9 stages of washing and rinsing and still turns the water this colour after only 1 car

You wouldn't start washing your car with water this dirty but that is what many people who visit hand car washes are doing. Imagine this water after 50 cars. The fine dirt from the previous ones being picked up in the wash mit and transfered to yours.
This is what is left in the rinse bucket grit filter after only 1 car

While the car is still wet it's time to remove any tar deposits

Next the car is dried with soft micro-fibre towels whilst each panel is sprayed with a detailing spray to aid drying and help the towel glide over the car

For this treatment the interior receives a vacuum and spot clean with surfaces wiped down to remove light soiling. Additional levels of service are available as an upgrade such as full interior detail, leather clean & protect or leather dye removal.

A few final touches to the glass, trims & tyres before the exterior paintwork recieves a spray nano wax coating. Customers may choose to upgrade to a Swissvax Wax option for longer lasting durability and shine. Waxes are available providing up to 12 months of protection between coats.
